Downtown Lindström, Early 1900's

Learn all about the history and makers of our statues, our Swedish heritage history, and explore the historic sites of downtown Lindström.  There are three routes- the Downtown West Loop, the Downtown South Loop, and the Downtown North Loop.  Each route starts at the Veterans Memorial on the west end of downtown.

The Downtown West Loop, which is the shortest loop, includes the Karl Oskar and Kristina Nilsson statue, Beach Park, historic homes, and more.

The Downtown South Loop follows the south side of Highway 8 through downtown and features several historic buildings, including the Chisago County Historical Center, and many more.  Head south on Olinda Trail and then west on Newell Avenue, and you will see Trinity Lutheran Church (built in the early 1900's) and several historic homes that are highlighted on this tour.

The Downtown North Loop follows the north side of Highway 8 through downtown.  Discover historic buildings, including our city's famous bakery and coffee pot water tower, historic homes, and the many statues that honor our Swedish heritage and modern day history.
