Seasonal Hydrant Flushing Begins Monday, September 18th

Fire hydrant flushing begins today, September 18th, and will continue throughout the week. City hydrants are flushed regularly to ensure they are in working order for fire protection and to remove mineral deposits that may accumulate in the water main.

You may experience low water pressure at this time, which should resume shortly after the process is finished. You may also experience “spitting” when you turn your water on, which is caused from air getting into the system.  A slight discoloration of the water can occur as well.  If you experience any of this, we suggest letting your water run for a short period of time to clear the pipes within your home.

Thank you for your patience. This will help to keep our fire hydrants in good working order.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at 651-257-0620.
