Lindström offers a wide variety of housing, including condos, apartments, townhomes, and single family residences ranging from starter homes to executive styles. Building permits for new home construction have been increasing annually. Surrounded by lakes, the Chisago Lakes area, specifically Lindström, has become a very popular place. In a Star Tribune article (Jan. 2022), Lindström was named in the top 5 overall hottest places to move from the Twin Cities to the exurbs during 2021. As of early 2022, our median value home was over $255,000.
Population
Lindström has a population of just over 5,000, and is located in Chisago County. Chisago County is one of the fastest growing counties in the State of Minnesota. The Chisago Lakes area is one of the major reasons why 20,000 people live within a 7 mile radius. This community has a lot to offer, and many new residents are now calling Lindström their home.

Community Tourism Data
Education
Lindström is located in Chisago Lakes School District #2144, which serves nearly 3,400 students of Chisago City, Lindström, Shafer, Taylors Falls and multiple surrounding townships. Students and staff strive for excellence in education, including achievements both inside and outside of the classroom. District test scores in reading and math are well in excess of the state averages, and are the best in the local area, as reported in the Star Tribune. Festivals
"Harmony in the Park" and "Karl Oskar Days" are fun family events which are held during the summer months. In February, residents enjoy the "Celebration of the Lakes," a festival sponsored by the Chisago Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce. Click HERE for our Community Events page.

The Chisago lakes Area offers an abundance of recreational activities. From ice fishing, snowmobiling and cross country skiing in the winter, to boating, hiking and cycling in the summer, there is an activity for nearly every interest and season.
