Scheduled Maintenance

Fire Hydrant Flushing begins in May, occurs again in September, and as needed throughout the summer. City hydrants are flushed regularly to ensure they are in working order for fire protection and to remove mineral deposits that may accumulate in the water main.

You may experience low water pressure at this time, which should resume shortly after the process is finished. You may also experience “spitting” when you turn your water on, which is caused from air getting into the system. A slight discoloration of the water can occur as well.  If you experience any of this, we suggest letting your water run for a short period of time to clear the pipes within your home.

Thank you for your patience. This will help to keep our fire hydrants in good working order. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at 651-257-0620.

Hydrant Flushing

Street Sweeping occurs in May and September, and as needed throughout the summer.  We ask that you do not park on the street while street sweeping is taking place.  Follow us on Facebook and sign up for our email notifications to be notified of when the city is street sweeping.  The sweeper is very slow moving so please keep a safe distance.
